This has been a problem for quite some time now and it's only now that it is truley getting on my nerves
The problem is that, for whatever reason, my internet connection is really bad and it's now going bad randomly. It commonly does at peak times but its not perfect even when it's the morning :beee: I mean most nights, at peak times, Im killing people on a game and they dont die till 5 seconds after they're meant to... dead annoying :cray:

i think I should mention that I am with Virgin Media (which are bad enough if you know about them) and I think it is a M package that I have. I also have a Belkin router F5D7231-4. The router doesn't really have range (G) but my consoles are right next to it and it's only my PS3 which I keep wireless as I move that around sometimes - connection is good when its near it.

I just want to know peoples thoughts on this. Like how I could keep my internet speed at a stable rate, or how I could boost it. I would say changing my ISP is an option, but that is up to my parents as they are the bill payers - I would rather fix it if it can be fixed :D

Please help! Thanks in advance :good:

Theres your problem right there.

BELKIN, if this information is still right that is.
Well i used to have a belkin that went bad and im on Virgin. When we rang them about support, apparently Belkin Routers dont mix well with Virgin internet in simple terms.

Thats why now i think most virgin packages come with Netgear routers as they are the best compatible.

It the only reason i can think, other than you may be using up too much bandwidth and they are capping your line for certain amounts of time.

When I had a Belkin router I had problems with the XBOX connection dropping especially at the weekends. When My son had the XBOX for Christmas it was near on impossible to have the two online at the same time. Nothing I could do would change it and did that many changes to the router and connections it stopped working properly (or it was already failing). Now using a netgear and I don't have problems with connection, even with PC, two XBOX's and a PS3 all connected at the same time.
